NewsMax Takes the Lead
Pilots
Urgent Testimony to Congress:
'Arm Us Today'
On
Monday, Captain Duane Woerth of the Airlines Pilots Association (ALPA),
the nation's largest airline pilots association representing 66,000
pilots, urgently asked Congress to allow its members to be armed while
in the cockpit. ALPA's request came within 24 hours of the posting of
NewsMax's lead editorial: Arm
the Pilots – Save the U.S. Economy. In its editorial, NewsMax
warned that millions will be unemployed unless the government takes
immediate steps to restore confidence in the public to fly. NewsMax is
strongly encouraging President Bush to bypass Congress and deputize as
marshals all airline pilots. Only this step will immediately boost
public confidence and deter future attacks. Editor's note: If you agree
with ALPA that pilots need to be armed, please let the president and
Congress know how you feel. Send
a free email to the president. You can also call the White House at
202-456-1414 and let the president know you agree with NewsMax and ALPA,
and request the president to allow pilots to be armed. Also, please call
your congressman and senators at 202-225-3121. You can also send an urgent
PriorityGram to Congress and the president.
